Parque Lago is a quiet neighborhood within the locality of Mar de Cobo, in the Mar Chiquita District, Province of Buenos Aires,
(km 486 of Provincial Route 11).
It is located in the center-south of the Argentine Atlantic coast and forms part of the Mar de Cobo agglomeration, along with La Baliza and La Caleta.
Parque Lago is a peaceful and authentic little town, with just a few dozen stable inhabitants and streets that breathe tranquility next to the lake, the sea and a creek that draw the landscape.
Beyond its rural tranquility, the place stands out for being a serene natural environment, ideal for relaxed walks, bicycles or evening walks. Tourist tours and guided trails are also organized, such as the "Parque Lago" circuit, designed to connect with nature and observe the landscape and its fauna.
This environment combines at the same time the sound of nearby waves with the songs of birds and wind among reeds and grasslands, perfect if you're looking for a quiet coastal corner without crowds.
Parque Lago is very attractive for birdwatching thanks to its varied environments: the interior lake, streams, grasslands and juniper zones that border the coast.
Throughout the year you can find species typical of wetlands and coastal grasslands, from herons and small aquatic birds to limicolous birds and others associated with tranquil water bodies.
In similar ecosystems, herons, ducks, biguás and chorlos are observed, both residents and migrants, as well as birds associated with coastal grasslands.
The lake itself serves as a focal point for these species: its calm margins and riparian vegetation attract birds seeking food, shelter and resting areas, making Parque Lago an interesting natural stop for birdwatchers, both local and visitors.
